Respawn Entertainment just dropped some exciting news on the next Apex patch, and the players are going crazy. Senior Game Designer Evan Funnel took to Twitter to reveal major changes for some Legends, namely Wattson, Vantage, and Ash. Let’s just say the community has given their opinions.
The first tweet was just a heads-up with a link to better descriptions of the changes, but oh, the replies! They set the whole mood. Some are excited, some salty, and some are asking for map rotations. Classic Apex chaos.
Some nice things seem to be coming for Wattson mains. One player, @B0TSPARKS, applauded the devs with, “Awesome work! Cant wait to try out the new Wattson buffs and become better than ever!” Another simply proclaimed their love for Wattson: “Watson is my lov❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.” So cute.
The underside changes have left some disenfranchised. @cptnnate71069 said it short and simple: “Vantage sucks ass no matter what you do.” Oof. Others, like @nkjofficial, had… very unique requests such as “Remove bullet drop while using vantage from all guns.” Because that definitely wouldn’t break the game at all.
And then Battle Pass was brought up. @EWRF1234 was complaining about how at the moment, grinding to level 100 felt like a “job” compared to the old system. “I used to be done 30 days ahead of the original way,” they said. “It would take so much stress away.” Honestly? Fair.
Map-related complaints filled the replies as well. Several players, including @leoosimpson and @apex_not_pred, begged for E-District to replace Kings Canyon or Worlds Edge. “We’ve barely got to play on that beauty of a map,” argued @leoosimpson. And honestly? They’re not wrong.
There were no shortages of discussion regarding buffing Ash after Ash got buffed. @voduch98 pointed out, “you buffed Ash…” while @KryonDeezNutz demanded more buffs. Classic.
Now, what are really those changes? There was that link, but some players, movements like @DincerA36989, claimed the link was broken. Typical. But the very fact that Respawn is dawning on those Legends with some sort of change… could have a meta-shift.
And from there come down the weird requests. @anief82685 asked for a “movement passive with character utility action bind (default: H)” after four years of playing. @jaydun29531379 claims Loba and Mirage must be buffed as they are the “only support legends with no regen in anyway.”
All in all, the Apex community is loud, and the update by Respawn has started stirring the pot already. Whether these changes will be hit-or-miss–to be seen, but one thing is for sure–the players really care. Would that damn link only work…
