Some minor hype to gain some support from the Monster Hunter crowd! Free Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds will finally get revealed in Capcom Spotlight at 3 pm PDT (11 pm BST) June 26. This ain’t just any reveal, for big guns like Monster Hunter Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, Director Yuya Tokuda, and Art/Executive Director Kaname Fujioka have been summoned to share the future with us.
Contents of the update? Uh…the community has theories. Some are rooting for layered armor options (and shoutout to @chillinskey to layer over Akuma)! Others are more worried about the fixes to performance, @_alejowo flatly said, “I hope this update fixes performance issues too.” And honestly? I do, too.
But that does not paint everybody’s view. @Dimitris_Tzk said that Capcom hyped it more than GTA6 and Death Stranding 2 combined and gave us just 1 monster and an AT version of an existing one. Ouch. @Zonig4 had some thoughts to share as well: “Getting bored Capcom not listening to their fanbase, fix your damn game or it’s gonna get worse.”
Another issue fans have been pondering is whether Monster Hunter should even be treated as a live-service game. @bruhnah76 said MH was never meant to be a live-service title and told everyone involved in the conversation to go play Destiny 2 or Warframe instead. In return, @ForTheRebound argued that player retention matters regardless—if the game runs poorly and lacks content, people will bounce.
Well, and then there’s the whole Sahikrii drama. @UhWaifu exploded with an explanation about how those little critters keep blocking their gunner shots; they called them “a pain in the ass” and need to be dropkicked off the screen. Honestly? Mood.
So what actually is Free Title Update 2 gonna bring along? According to the leaks, fan-favorite monsters like Lagiacrus and Seregios might return, but Capcom is keeping it vague for now. And the bigger question is: Will they ever fix the performance issues, or will they just keep pumping out new monsters while the game stutters?
Either way, mark your calendars for June 26. It should give us some concrete information about what we can expect for Monster Hunter Wilds next, whether you’re hyped or on the fence. And hey—it’s free, so you’ve got nothing to lose!
