XSEED Games and Marvelous Games recently launched Story Of Seasons: Friends Of Mineral Town on PC and the Nintendo Switch in July. The game is a remake of the Mineral Town series but combines both the female and male protagonists’ experiences into one title.
Story Of Seasons: Friends Of Mineral Town is a complete remake of the original title. The game has updated gameplay, graphics, two new protagonist designs, and two new friends (or potential romances) named Jennifer and Brandon.
XSEED Games has recently launched a series of tips and tricks for the game on social media and through Twitch. While many players are already familiar with the game, the title has some new additions not seen before. Many other parts of the game remain the same as the original, but since the game was first launched years ago in 2003, players may have gotten a few things.
Fans of the game may recognize it as Harvest Moon: Friends Of Mineral Town when it was released by Natsume. Although the company still owns the Harvest Moon name, it no longer localizes the series. Natsume’s Harvest Moon games are still within the farming simulation genre but are not localizations of the Bokujo Monogatari series.
It’s currently unknown how many tips that XSEED plans on rolling out on social media. The first five tips include:
- Spoiling the Harvest Goddess near the Hot Springs pays off. Throwing “offerings” of crops and flowers will make her more likely to give the player gifts or other helpful boosts.
- Throwing certain crops and flowers into the streams might make a special visitor appear. After throwing several cucumbers into Mother’s Hill Lake, Kappa may give the player something good.
- In the previous games, players had to push or pick up and drop animals outside of the bar or coop. Animals couldn’t go out on their own until their heart level increased. Now, by ringing a bell in sunny weather, animals will go outside to graze and automatically return at 8PM.
- There are nine hidden “Truth Jewels” throughout the game. The first one players can unlock is hidden in the trough inside of the horse stable.
- Players start off with a limited amount of stamina and fatigue, which depends on what difficulty the player starts off at. By playing, players will discover, or get to purchase, “Power Berries” to increase this vital setting.
Players interested in learning more tips can follow XSEED Games on social media. Their tip posts also have helpful videos to show new players exactly what they need to do.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is available now on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch.
