XSEED Games and Marvelous Inc. have announced their upcoming game Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town will receive a PC release. Previously, the title was planned to release only on the Nintendo Switch. Now more players will have the opportunity to replay the classic game told in a new way. \n \nStory of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is a reimagining of Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town that combines both the original game and More Friends of Mineral Town that introduced a female protagonist. \n \nThe game was initially localized by Natsume as Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town in 2003 for the GameBoy Advance, but is now being released by XSEED Games, which is a branch of Marvelous Inc. The series has been renamed as Story of Seasons. \n \nThe title became so popular that it previously saw a reimagining as a 3D sprite game. The graphics of the upcoming game look similar, but with some modern improvements. \n \n \n \nStory of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town has the same storyline as the original game. The player is sent to a small village to rebuild a farm that has seen better days. The farm has to be cleaned up, grow a successful harvest with some of the new crops, plus raise various animals like the varieties of cows and rabbits. \n \nPlayers also have activities outside of the town to take part in, such as fishing, cooking meals to raise stamina, and take a soak in the hot springs. The game is not only about being a successful farmer but also becoming an important part of the community. \n \nThe village also has plenty of activities. There are new friends to make and help out. Players can also choose one person to spend the rest of their lives with and raise a child together. The game introduces two new marriage candidates for those who are already familiar with the previous characters. \n \nSimilar to real life, there are four seasons that make up a single year. Throughout each month, players can participate in various activities like horse racing and cooking competitions. \n \nPlayers can wishlist the game now on Steam. It's unknown if the Steam version will come with preorder bonuses, such as the Cow Costume. Only the physical preorder release on Nintendo Switch will receive the bonus Strawberry Cow plush. \n \nStory of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town launches on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch simultaneously on July 14.
