If you have been to Kentucky, then you know a few things about the country. I recommend you be careful out there because things can always get rough, especially if you end up in a deep, deep country. And that is the whole concept behind Annapurna Game’s newest title, Kentucky Route Zero. So the question is ultimately this: Is it worth it? Well, you will just have to find out.
In fact, this bad boy has been running since 2013 as an episodic adventure that has strung all of us along the entire way, and that is probably the best part of the game. Episodic games are like a sweet treat, everyone makes you reach for another out of the bag. You will not be able to get enough of this bad boy, so get ready to hear all of the juicy details down below. Good luck, my adventuring friends.
This week the famous studio behind the series released the last entry in the long string of titles, announcing they were finally finished. This means that there are five main entries in the game, not including the interlude periods and everything else. That is absolutely great news.
The series starts off in Kentucky when an incredible event has changed everything. You start off as a guy who has to make a simple antique delivery down there in the American South. But the event throws you off track totally. Soon enough you end up dealing with all kinds of ghosts and intrigue. It is one rough ride from thereon. It takes a tricky tactician to make it all the way to the end.
To be honest, most of the game is spent picking through dialogue trees and driving, but that is why it is ultimately so good. This game plays as something super simple when it is, in fact, anything but simple. So be ready for stuff you never intended to find within the wild, wild ride.
If you happen to love big stories, dynamic characters, and everything else, then you need to get out there and get a taste of this classic title.
In addition to all of the news above, the best part about Kentucky Route Zero is that it will be released on consoles in the next few months with all five parts of the game combined into one finished super game. This baby will have all of the episodic experiences combined with interludes and everything else. But you will have to be incredibly careful because this is not a game for the faint of heart.
