The new expansion will cover the snow-covered region of Western Skyrim for the first time.

“The Dark Heart of Skyrim beats from the depths in The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor, the latest adventure in the Elder Scrolls saga. A chilling evil from the First Era awakens, and Skyrim needs heroes. Explore the snow-swept region of Western Skyrim, discover Tamriel’s hidden history, and face an ancient threat as part of a year-long story.” states the official game summary from the ESO team.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor is the newest year-long adventure that follows the conclusion of the Year of the Dragon in 2019. There’s also more in store for 2020, including performance enhancements and other improvements outlined in the roadmap for the year. One of the most significant changes came to the Activity Finder, which has encountered issues for years.

Soon after the game was announced, the game was available for preorder.

Players can either preorder the game digitally or purchase a physical edition. Both preorders include exclusive content.

Those who preorder the digital version of the game will gain immediate access to he Holdbreaker Warhorse in-game mount.

There’s an even greater bonus for those who purchase the Collector’s Edition, available for PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One.

The Collector’s Edition includes a Vampire Lord Statue, Exclusive Steelbook that holds the game, a map of Western Skyrim, a set of four Collector’s Coins, one month of ESO Plus, exclusive digital CE content, and any additional bonus preorder content.

The digital CE content includes the Sword Thane Outfit style, Death Hound Pet, Crypt Warden Death Hound Mount, Orb of Magnus Memento, and Skyrim Emote pack.

It’s important to note that the Collector’s Edition does not contain the base game of The Elder Scrolls Online. The Collector’s Edition is an upgrade and not the complete game. Players who only buy this edition without owning the base game won’t be able to play it. Fortunately, the base game goes on sale often throughout the year, so it’s easy to pick up the game and start playing before the release of Greymoor.
