The Taipei Computer Association has announced the official dates for the Taipei Game Show 2021. The event will be held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1 from January 28-31.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, the event will host both in-person and online events. This is the first time in the event’s history that events will take place in both locations.
Exhibitors can begin registering to present at the event now. There are two areas available for either the B2B or B2C Zone.
The news comes after the event was previously canceled for 2020. The event was scheduled for February but was then postponed due to the rising COVID-19 risks for the event, which planned on having more than 300,000 in attendance. International visitors would have been stopped at the border.
The 2020 show was then postponed until June 25-28. In March, it was announced that the event was canceled as the threat from COVD-19 only worsened. The show held some announcements online, including the B2B matching event, but it was not what the association was hoping for.
The 2021 event will not bring together guests and exhibitors from across the world, both online and offline. The show will focus on three main sectors for the Asia Pacific Game Summit, B2B Zone, and B2C Zone. B2B brings together industry professionals to share ideas and get to meet each other.
The event will host the “Indie Game Awards,” which has been accepting applicants from indie developers. The award show was previously streamed online in June 2020.
According to the event’s official description:
Taipei Game Show attracts exhibitors and gamers from more than 25 countries each year. Its B2C Zone provides gamers the first-hand information of giant game titles, well-known esports, and hardware brands, meeting various appetites from gamers.
The next event is expected to have over 350,000 visitors and around 500 exhibitors both online and offline.
The official website, Facebook, and Twitter pages are now available to information in English about the event.
The Taipei Game Show 2021 will be held physically at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1. Online events will also be held during the event’s duration from January 28 to 31, 2021.
