Cyberpunk 2077 is probably the most anticipated game of 2020. It’s shaping up to be a beautiful game filled with so many possibilities. CD Projekt Red has a history of making games that really immerse you in the settings and give you so much content, as is clear with The Witcher games.

So far, we’ve seen extended portions of gameplay showing V and Night City. It has also been teased that the game would be getting a multiplayer. This makes a lot of sense. It would open up Night City in so many ways, much like what the Grand Theft Auto games do. However, considering how massive of an undertaking the single-player campaign is let alone the multiplayer, we’ll probably be waiting quite a while.

At least fans got a confirmation that multiplayer will in fact be showing up. It was debated for the longest time, so those looking to create some mayhem and complete additional quests with other real players can finally rest easy. The studio made this announcement in a recent Q/A, where they said the multiplayer is being developed right alongside the story campaign.

They also gave a tentative 2021 release date for the multiplayer portion. That makes a lot of sense. Cyberpunk 2077 is massive in size. There are just so many elements the developers have to nail down and work out before launch. That’s not a bad thing, either. It shows just how great this upcoming RPG will be.

Not only will you have endless ways to customize your created character V with cosmetics and attribute skill trees, but you’ll be able to approach missions however you like. For example, if your character is heavily armored, you may want to take a ‘shoot first ask questions later’ approach. Conversely, if you’re nimble and like utilizing more critical thinking, you can use stealth. CD Projekt Red has unleashed the chains as to give you a truly unique experience each time you venture through Night City.

There also are so many NPCs you’ll be able to interact with. It won’t be meaningless dialogue, either. What you say and do to characters could have a dramatic impact on how the main story plays out. It’s clear: Cyberpunk 2077 is massive. You would think the multiplayer will be just as big and immersive. Even though it won’t be available at launch, at least the developers are doing their best to fine-tune it. This way, everyone has optimal experiences when it does eventually come out.
