Blizzard has once again cycled through their purchasable corruptions for players to purchase in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. Switching away from their previous corruptions, the developers are rotating to some of the strongest possible options.
Of course, the best corruption depends not just on your class, but on the specialization you play. The best corruption for a Fury Warrior, for example, may not be the same as it is for a Protection Warrior, much less an Arcane Mage.
Because of this, make sure you’re aware of what might be the best corruption for you before you purchase any corruptions from M.O.T.H.E.R., as they can be quite expensive. There isn’t much worse than spending all of your Echoes of Ny’alotha on your second-best corruption just for your best to cycle through the next rotation.
The following corruptions will be available:
- Racing Pulse (4,125 Echoes of Ny’alotha)
- Strikethrough (3,000 Echoes of Ny’alotha)
- Surging Vitality (5,000 Echoes of Ny’alotha)
- Void Ritual (7,875 Echoes of Ny’alotha)
- Masterful (5,000 Echoes of Ny’alotha)
- Twilight Devastation (15,000 Echoes of Ny’alotha)
- Avoidant (2,400 Echoes of Ny’alotha)
This selection of corruptions provides a wide variety of options, making it so that no one should be without an option. However, as mentioned previously, you may want to just hoard your Echoes of Ny’alotha until you see your best possible corruption if it isn’t available.
That said, the arrival of Twilight Devastation is certainly welcome, as it’s one of the most effective and widely-used corruptions, providing a solid alternative to corruptions like Infinite Stars. Most melee classes are able to find a great amount of use in the corruption, and it may be useful for yours as well!
Unfortunately, 15,000 Echoes of Ny’alotha is a hefty price, so there’s a good chance you won’t be able to just hop into grabbing it unless you’ve been saving up for quite some time. While the cheaper options might seem preferable, keep all things in mind.
For example, Avoidant gives you more avoidance, which is generally considered to be a dump stat by most players. Avoidance typically reduces the damage you take from AoE abilities, which isn’t quite useless, but isn’t far off.
Others like Void Ritual are best if coordinated with a group that you play with on a frequent basis, as the corruption needs others around that also have Void Ritual to be activated. Without others to activate the corruption, you’re simply spending your Echoes of Ny’alotha on an ability that you won’t be able to use.
