When modern games release, there’s always a question that has to be answered.

Just how much space is this game going to take up on my console?

This has been a concern since consoles have moved to a downloadable format, in which even physical games have to be installed on a hard drive before becoming playable.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla releases next month. It’s the latest in a long line of open world Assassin’s Creed titles put out by developer Ubisoft. It is set in the ninth century and follows the path of a Viking name Eivor, who can be either male or female depending on a choice made by the player.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is going to be a huge game, there’s no doubt about that. the question of how big was recently answered, when Ubisoft revealed that this new title is going to be 50.01 GB. This is the same size as the most recent installment in the long running franchise, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Other games that fall around the 50 GB mark are Final Fantasy XV and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,

That’s not nearly as large as some of the other major games out there right now, but it should be noted that the game is expected to drop with a day one patch that will add a few more gigs onto its size.

DLC content is not included in this size, as that hasn’t been released yet. We can expect DLC to hit sometime in 2021.

To compare the size of Valhalla to some other modern games, Final Fantasy VII Remake, which released back in April, was 100 GB. Red Dead Redemption 2, which was a huge open world adventure, was a little more than 100 GB.

Then you have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which was a massive 175 GB.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is releasing on November 10, 2020, the same date as the Xbox Series X console. The game will release on current generation consoles, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. It will also release for next generation consoles, like the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.

Of course, development of this game has not been easy for Ubisoft. Recent allegations of sexual misconduct have led to the termination or resignation of several top Ubisoft figures, including Ashraf Ismail, the director of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Ismail was also the director for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and he was able to complete the majority of Valhalla’s development.
