Soedesco has announced it will be publishing the action-platformer Kaze and the Wild on Google Stadia. Developed by PixelHive, the game will be part of the first set of Google Stadia Makers titles. Kaze and the Wild Masks is also planned to launch on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

In Kaze and the Wild Masks, players take control of the protagonist Kaze. Kaze’s friend Hogo has been cursed and is currently spreading chaos around the Crystal Islands. Kaze will have to fight against living vegetables by using the powers of the Wild Masks.

With the Wild Masks, Kaze can pounce like a tiger, soar through the skies like an eagle, run like a lizard, or swim through the seas as a shark. The game offers challenging platform levels inspired by 90s games.

The game contains various secrets and bonuses for players to pick up. The islands contain collectibles, achievements, and over 50 bonus levels to unlock.

Kaze and the Wild Masks has recreated colorful 16-bit graphics that were hand-drawn. As players continue through each level, they will be treated to high-quality cutscenes and hand drawn scrolls that guide players. The music itself was also inspired by 90s platformers.

André Schaan, CEO of PixelHive, commented about the upcoming release, along with the partnership with publisher Soedesco:

I have full confidence in SOEDESCO Studios to make this project a success. Seeing them work closely with Google and Unity to take on this new platform is great! SOEDESCO Studios has already made significant progress so far and they share the same enthusiasm for Kaze and the Wild Masks as us.

The game was previously part of the Steam Game Festival this Summer. PixelHive made a short demo available for free for a limited time, but it is no longer available.

The Steam version of the game will also offer full controller support. The game will be available for players worldwide with multiple language options.

The official release date for the game has not yet been announced. The Steam page states “2020,” but on other platforms, the release date is “to be announced.”

Those who want to follow the development of the game or get to know the comunity can join the game’s official Discord server.
