A new street brawler is joining the ranks in Streets of Rage 4, and her name is Cherry Hunter. She is the daughter of Adam Hunter who was in the original Streets of Rage and goes rocking into battle wielding an electric guitar. She brings a unique style of fighting into the game and will hopefully shake up the types of beat downs being handed out.

She is described as a “badass guitar-playing warrior” and was trained to fight by her father and Axel. She was originally hoping to become a cop until she replaced that dream with her love of music. She plays with an electro progressive rockband in some of the most dangerous places in Wood Oak City.

The trailer also shows off more levels that players will be fighting through including rooftops, an elevator, airport hangers, and sewers. Not only dor the levels look detailed, but expectations are high for the soundtrack that is going to accompany the many beatdowns happening in the game.

Yuzo Koshiro, the original composer for the game, has returned along with the frequent collaborator Motohiro Kawashima. Other famous video game composers are joining in as well creating a work of all-star artists taking part in the devlopment of the soundtrack.

From the look of the trailer, she looks to be a speed typed brawler. She not only uses her guitar in combat but can also bash the enemies with her ax. She also has a powerful uppercut taught to her by Axeland amplified guitar strums that electrocute and shock her opponent.

The game itself is a side-scrolling fighting game where you battle against waves of enemies using an array of attacks and special moves. The game is adding a new formula that will allow you to recover health spent by using special attacks in quick succession with follow-up attacks.

Developers Lizardcube, Guard Crush Games, and Dotemu have worked hard to create a powerful, fast-paced fighting experience. The unique character designs, a killer soundtrack, and overall ambient feel of the game have many fans ready to take their skills and put them to the test. The game is set 10 years after the events of the previous installment.
