The success of Cyberpunk 2077‘s anime spin-off, Edgerunners, is mainly responsible for the game’s recent comeback in popularity. Old and new viewers alike have developed a strong attachment to the cast of characters featured in the Netflix show. As a result, a significant number of viewers have returned to Night City to seek all of the references to the characters included in the most recent patch. And now, a single supporter is pushing this adoration to an entirely new level.
A player in Cyberpunk 2077 paid an emotional tribute to Rebecca, a popular Edgerunner character, by dragging a mounted weapon over the entirety of Night City. Reddit user SpaceKnightLife transported Rebecca’s machine pistol from where it was discovered in Pacifica to her home in Watson. Her apartment is located in Watson. To make matters even more impressive, they accomplished all this while walking, painstakingly covering the about 4.7-kilometer section of the map so the weapon could be returned to its proper owner.
I decided to give it a shot on my own to get a better idea of the amount of work required to accomplish this feat. To begin, to acquire the gun in the first place, you will need to challenge a security guard at a melee weapon store located in south Pacifica to a fight. If you are successful, you will be rewarded with a pistol. When he becomes hostile, he will immediately unleash the rogue and attack. First, however, you must ensure that you do not murder him while he is inside the store because doing so will cause the pistol to vanish. Then, when he is defeated, equip the machine gun, and everything will be yours.
It is impossible to put it away anyplace, given how cumbersome the weapon is. You can only temporarily hold onto it and then drop it when you switch to a different weapon. Oh, and running is out of the question while you’re carrying it, which means your speed is reduced to that of V when walking. In other words, this is precisely what SpaceKnightLife did: they took it on foot from one side of the map to the other.
