One of Red Dead Redemption 2’s lesser-used features, both in Story mode and Online is the fishing mechanic. Unlike hunting, fishing isn’t strictly necessary to crafting any beneficial goods. Whilst hunting can provide pelts to craft saddles, upgrades, and decorations, fish are typically useful mainly for their ability to provide sustenance.

Legendary Animals and Fish work in pretty much the same way. All of the Legendary Animals can be used in some way, whether it’s crafting clothing or trinkets. Legendary Fish, on the other hand, are only good for two things: their meat, and sending their carcasses to Jeremy Gill. That, and the pride of wrangling in one of these monstrous fish.

Jeremy Gill is an NPC in the RDR2 world who is famous for fishing. If you catch a legendary fish, you’ll be able to load them on your horse and take them to Mr. Gill to advance his personal quests. There are 13 Legendary Fish available to catch, which will be detailed in the article below.
