The Super Mario series is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. The game was first launched in 1985 on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Nintendo is celebrating the milestone with special merchandise and plenty of rumors about possible remakes of older titles.
Nintendo has announced two new controllers for the Nintendo Switch. The gamepads are officially licensed products being manufactured by two popular companies.
The HORIPAD mini has a new design with Mario on one side and Bowser on the opposite end. The design is more vibrant that the second controller option. HORIMAD mini controllers are designed with young gamers in mind or players with smaller hands. The controller comes with Home, Capture, and +/- buttons with Turbo functionality. It has a cable around 3 meters long.
The second 35th anniversary controller is the PowerA Enhanced Wired Controller. The design is red with a gold “M.” Inside of the “M” are various icons from the series, such as mushrooms, bricks, and flags. The item is larger than the HORIPAD mini with a Nintendo Switch button layout. The controller has a 10ft USB cable, 3.5mm audio jack, and mappable advanced gaming buttons.
Bringing you a controller that's fun for all ages; the HORIPAD Mini (Super Mario) for Nintendo Switch.

Both controllers are wired with no wireless function. This is great news for those who don’t want to worry about recharging a battery. Unfortunately, it does have to be plugged in at all times to play.
If controllers with bright designs don’t fit in with a player’s gaming set up, earlier this month, HORI revealed three new colors for its Split pad Pro Switch Controller. These controllers split in half and rejoin together depending on how someone wants to play their game.
In detached split mode, players slide the halves of the controller on the left and right side of the Switch screen. The new colors include Transparent Black, Midnight Blue, and Volcanic Red. Preorders have been announced but are not yet available.
Both controllers are available for preorder now through Amazon but will be released a few days apart. The controllers both coat $24.99 each plus tax. Although preordering is an option, the controllers will likely be available for the same price after the official launch dates.
The HORIPAD mini will launch first on September 1. The PowerA controller will launch a few days later on September 4.
