Baldur’s Gate 3 looked awesome on Friday’s gameplay stream showcase. For those looking to get an inside scoop on the tidbits on the highly anticipated cRPG, here’s what we know so far about D&D.
Speaking of which, Gamespot recently had an interview with Larian Studios’ CEO Swen Vincke and also the head of the Belgian studio confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 will have more content when it drops on early access.
He also stressed that Baldur’s Gate 3 will have more content than Divinity: Original Sin 2 as at the time it launched on Steam.

Here’s an excerpt from the interview:
This means there would be a lot of game scenes. Like a lot…
That’s not all. You’d also have what is popularly known as the first act of Baldur’s Gate 3, or a considerable part of it as we may likely cut some things depending on where we are in the development schedule, but you will be able to play through a couple of long quest lines.
There’s a bunch of subquests, a bunch of dungeons, and story beats that you’ll be able to explore. I’m talking about main story paths, which take quickly, fifteen to twenty hours. You’ll be able to explore all kinds of things; you’ll be ready to go to the Underdark, you’ll be prepared to visit various overland places.
You’ll be able to play as a Warlock, as a Wizard, Fighter, Ranger…There are six classes that you can play as in the beginning, and you’ll have several subclasses too. There’ll be several races present, and you’ll be able to play up to an absolute level cap.
Vincke also noted that Baldur’s Gate 3 will feature ‘alignment,’ a vital element of the D&D experience; still, players won’t be stuck in their alignment.
Here’s an excerpt of Vincke’s remarks:
We have added alignment in character creation. Alignment is having an impact on a whole bunch of systems present there, but we don’t want to force you down a particular path because you picked one alignment. You still have the entire range that is at your disposal in the narrative choices that you’re making in Baldur’s Gate 3, where the alignment and the choices you make matter is in your relationship to your companions and the world.
In conclusion, Vincke stressed that the Larian team is currently occupied with developing the core Baldur’s Gate 3 game and hasn’t the chance to develop a Dungeon Master-like mode yet. However, that doesn’t dispute any development shortly.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has no official release date yet. However, it could be coming to early access on Google Stadia and PC this August. Be on the lookout!
