In preparation for the new challenge of “The Shining Storm Rages,” Capcom therefore went ahead and released this. In recent times, one would better believe being too much can go against it. This is not your Granny’s little hunting trip. This is Arch-Tempered Rey Dau. I mean, if you’ve ever been in a fight with one of these Arch-Tempered beasts, you’d know they’ve taken this to a whole new level of seriousness.
Other than that, what is it all about? The quest has just gone live, with a capacity for four hunters. The win: you get to use your own gear. No jarring restrictions. No gimmicks. Just you and your pals (or solo if you’re feeling brave) versus an enraged lightning lizard intent on spoiling your day. The reward: exclusive pendants. Yes, those little trinkets that dangle off your weapon as a badge of honor. Capcom says the pendants will be rewarded at some later time, so keep your cool if they do not pop up immediately after you have tucked in the beast.
So if you are just crossing over into the Arch-tempered world, this is a little introduction: Arch-tempered monsters are basically the highly enhanced, turbo-charged versions of regular elder dragons with greater damage, movements, and health capacity. Rey Dau by itself is a nightmare with its lightning attacks and aggressive moves. Now an Arch-tempered? Oh, my. Serious agony will be upon thee. But hey, that’s what makes it fun, doesn’t it?
Of course, this ain’t Capcom‘s first free challenge quest, and it probably wouldn’t be the last. They’ve been really good to keep the game fresh with a spaced-out scheduling of events, and this one is no exception. Could be just the thing to keep you busy if you’ve been grinding endgame builds and want something to put the last bit of skill into the challenge.
And to be honest, pendants may sound like an incidental prize, but in Monster Hunter, clothes are endgame. Flexing on fellow hunters in exclusive loot is half the fun. And it’s free. FREE. No microtransactions, no battle pass, just some legit monster-smashing goodies.
So call in your crew, polish those weapons, and get ready to dance with this electrified nightmare. And remember to dodge the lightning. Seriously. It hurts. Real bad.
Oh, do you want to know when these pendants will be rolling down? For that, Capcom is uncharacteristically tight-lipped, and you will probably have to wait until one of the future updates, so keep track of their socials for updates. Now get hunting and try not to get zapped into next week.
