Okay hunters, hold on tight because Capcom just detonated the hype bomb-Arch-Tempered Rey Dau is crashing down in Monster Hunter World this week; and if you thought the original version was somehow tough, oh boy, you have not seen anything yet. The electric beast is set for April 29 PT, and the devs are pretty much screaming “good luck” with that thunder emoji. Like, we get it, this one’s gonna zap us into next week.
What we really know about Arch-Tempered monsters then? There people who don’t know-Arch-Tempered monsters- well, they are nothing more than jacked elder dragons with new moves, increased statistics, and enough adrenaline to make any veteran hunter sweat profusely.
Rey Dau, who is basically a moving lightning storm, has more recently gained the label as basically the final boss of getting one-shot. But for sure if you have fought any of the Arch-Tempered monsters in times past, the drops had better be worth the pain-loads of gamma armor sets and layered armor, plus some wannabe-cosmetic.
This is interesting. Monster Hunter World has long been released, but Capcom still offers these savagely brutal updates just to see how much torture we can withstand. Honestly? Keep coming back for more. The discussions on the community are already prepared: stack some thunder resist, bring Temporal Mantles, and maybe even throw in a Palico sacrifice to RNG gods.
But the most crucial inquiry: Why at this time? You would hope World has slowed down in the marketplace what with Rise’s Sunbreak expansion coming down the pipe. Nope. Capcom is reminding everyone why this game ruled in 2018. Last hurrah, or are they sadistic? Either way, grab the Insect Glaives, charged blades, and this one’s gonna be chef’s kiss messy.
And if you are still on Fatalis, well this one might be better skipped. Well, or not. Live your truth. Just don’t come crying to us when Rey Dau makes you a crispy snack.
Pro tip: Look for the tells. Arch-Temps love to fake you out and Rey Dau’s lightning strikes are coming in faster, fiercer, and probably some new AoE nonsense in tow. Bring your friends, or don’t-the cart’s going to love it either way.
So mark it. Put those alarms and pray to any gods you may have. This is pure Monster Hunter, right down to the heart, and God, we wouldn’t want it any other way. We’ll see you in the field, hunters. Try not to faint. Or faint a lot. Totally okay. We’ve all been there.
