Blizzard is inches away from unveiling World of Warcraft‘s newest expansion, the Shadowlands. In fact, the heroes of Azeroth have already got a taste of pre-patch 9.0 since last month. But the developers are not yet done with theatricals for hyping one of the most anticipated expansions of the MMORPG. On its weekly Tuesday patch day, players will experience the pre-Shadowlands event on November 10. For the first time in history, Azeroth is without a Lich King, and with this comes the Scourge invasion.
The event is revealed to come in two stages. The first one comes out tomorrow, while Stage 2 is scheduled for November 17. For Stage 1, expect a questline starting from your specific racial leader as you are summoned to control the swarming undead Scourge Azeroth have not seen since Arthas’ demise. When Blizzard played the teaser video of their upcoming expansion, and Sylvannas held the helm of the Lich King, everyone thought that she would wear it and become the Lich Queen. But now we know that she wanted to destroy it to open the gates to the afterlife.

Blizzard also released a video that the Banshee Queen kidnapped Alliance’s King Anduin. And, not to spoil too much, she kidnaps leaders from Horde, as well. This plot might play a role in the quest chain that will be given to us tomorrow. As for our allies, players will not be fighting alone as the Death Knights of the Ebon Blade, and the Argent Crusade will aid us in defeating the Scourge invasion. As for Bolvar, he has served Azeroth in containing the Lich King’s suppressive powers, but he is now relieved of his duties.
Stage 1 of the event is expected to send players to numerous areas that depend on your faction. After adventuring and slaying monsters, we will find out that Sylvannas’ right hand and loyalist, Nathanos Blightcaller, have been spotted in the Eastern Plaguelands. He is the 9.0.1’s World Boss and will drop a Deathguard Equipment Cache that contains an Item Level 72 Specialization loot. Much like this cache, the pre-expansion event will offer players catch-up gears to get their mains and alts prepared for what’s waiting in the afterlife.
Blizzard will also introduce the Papa’s Mint Condition Bag that is a 34-slot bag, a massive life improvement for those who are hoarders and have a ton of gears and items sitting in their bags.
The Shadowlands is set to release on November 23.
