A map in the limbo: Riot went on to drop a bomb on VALORANT enthusiasts by finally giving Abyss back to the competitive rotation map pool for Season 25 Act 4. From the reports by the official VALORANT Leaks Twitter, the whole thing has turned into wildfire in the community, some players less excited while others are furious.

Abyss was a temporary banishment from the competitive pool in brief. It means that with the map back, teams now will restructure their strategies around how it’s laid out, including those infamous death pits that can either seal the deal or save a round. The love and hate come in because it forces the players to act and think differently. So with a little shake-up, Riot wants it back.

Response tweet replies are an utter MESS, if they might be called so. Some players are straight-up rejoicing, with @neroafterhour shouting about “GOD BLESS GOD BLESS GOD BLESS.” Others might be feeling less celebratory. @MaFaTay7910 is going full rage, labeling the map as “irritating” and demanding Bind instead, and they are accompanied by another one, @98_a_tom, calling Abyss an “abomination” that “should be locked in the vault forever.” Yikes.

Then comes some Breeze cast as well. @Porat__blurted out “Y breeze pa cuando :c” (meaning: “When’s going to be the return of Breeze?”), which is the echo of what many players have been demanding for countless months. Breeze has been out of rotation for quite some time now and is still outrightly missed.

But this also begs the question of the Sage mains. @aiichiyo went cute with “HAYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYY MY SAGE WALLS REIGN SUPREME,” because yes, Abyss is nearly a playground for Sage players. Anybody ever walled off into the void is going to speak to that.

And, of course, there’s always a guy (@kaiserzx4) saying, “this game is dogshit,” because it’s Twitter. @BasilSSR_ then returned with some dripping endorsement, calling the return “fucking awesome.” The dichotomy that exists within VALORANT players, man.

So here’s where the big question comes: What actually got the boot to make space for Abyss? It has yet to be confirmed by Riot, while the players are already drowning in panic. @MaiuuTheZoroark begged, “please not split my pookie,” while @Blahman124 says maybe Fracture should’ve stuck around instead. Then @jayyraajjj just straight up wants Lotus gone (“Chalega, Lotus ko hatao ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป”).

One thing’s for sure, this one’s going to shake up the ranked queues. Whether you enjoy Abyss or you’d rather dodge it altogether, things are getting messy in Season 25 Act 4. And hey, at least not Icebox again, right?

So grab your agents and start practicing those Sage walls. Maybe just keep yourself from falling off the map. Or don’t. It’s VALORANT; someone is going to manage to yeet themselves into the abyss regardless.
