Ubisoft is set to launch the latest installment to the Assassin's Creed franchise, subtitled Valhalla, for current-gen consoles on November 10, with the game's next-gen version being released alongside the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. \n \nAs per usual with major AAA releases, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will get a day-one patch, and Ubisoft has provided the patch notes via the game's official website. The Codex has two parts, the Database & Tutorials. \n \nDatabase: \n \n \tThe Database provides information about the world and its people. \n \nTutorials: \n \n \tTutorials provide insights on everything you have learned so far. \n \nhttps:\/\/youtu.be\/g4nL1QmVPV8 \n \nThe developers also revealed the game's file size across all platforms, and while the game will feature a giant open-world, it won't eat up a ton of space on your hard drive. \n \nFile Sizes: \n \n \tXbox Series X|S: ~45 GB \n \tXbox One: ~44 GB \n \tPlaystation 5: ~45 GB \n \tPlaystation 4: ~45 GB \n \tPC: ~45 GB \n \nDuring a recent interview with Gaming Bold, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla's narrative director, Darby McDevitt, talked about how Ubisoft will try to drastically change the traditional RPG formula with their next release. \n \nInstead of having traditional side quests, Valhalla will focus on more long-term stories with higher stakes, sprawling arcs, and bigger emotions because, according to the narrative director, a Viking raider wouldn't just help random strangers out of the kindness of their heart. \n“One of the first things we asked ourselves when making Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was ‘Does the traditional Main Quest \/ Side Quests format work for a Viking who invades a hostile country?’ The answer was a resounding ‘no.’ Traditional Side Quests, as you find in almost every RPG around, just didn’t make sense for our character. \n \n“By embracing this format, it left us a lot of room for smaller and more intimate narrative moments scattered throughout the world, moments we call World Events — countless small little happenings, side stories, and surreal encounters that players may engage with as they see fit. They won’t be tracked in your quest log, but they’ll tug at your curiosity.” \nAssassin's Creed: Valhalla is currently scheduled to be released for current-gen consoles and PC on November 10, and for next-gen consoles at launch.
