Total War: Three Kingdoms follows the pattern of the rest of the Total War franchise and is a strategy game at heart. You must conquer neighboring kingdoms and best the odds of a world fighting each other. This edition of Total War includes a new mode called Dynasty Mode that pits three of your units against waves upon waves of enemy foes.

The new game mode will test your tactical prowess by allowing you to battle against growing enemy forces. It has a very 300 vibe to it and sounds epic for any war game fan. Although the details of how difficult this new mode has yet to be released, fans are already high in anticipation of an epic affair.

The new Dynasty Mode gives players control of legendary characters with unique abilities designed to face the horde. As the foes get stronger and stronger, your forces continue to battle in a never-ending slaughter. Every third wave spawns an enemy general to the battlefield whose sole mission is to bring you down.

The development team at Creative Assembly and Feral Interactive worked to create this new mode to help experience the feeling of overwhelming odds. The enemies you will have to face can range from anywhere between 80 to 960 units, and you never know which it will be. This is something a lot of games in the past have attempted but never the Total War series.

Dynasty Mode can be played either solo or in a three-player online co-op experience. This can help the odds feel more balanced or bring the entire challenge to your work alone. It is up to you how you want to tackle this new level of difficulty.

This mode tries to maintain a level of historical accuracy with the game’s lore allowing players to experience what happened in many East Asia battlefields. It was often that elite soldiers would war against a never-ending number of enemies and some became legendary by defying the odds and surviving the onslaught.

Total War: Three Kingdoms was released in May and has been met with positive reviews since then. Steam currently rates the game at Very Positive and is selling the game for $59.99. This game is only available on Windows, Mac, and Linux devices.

Dynasty Mode will be available on August 8 released with the Eight Princes DLC package. The mode will be a free update to all players who own the game.
