Back in September, it was being reported that Tom Holland, who is playing the role of Nathan Drake in Sony‘s upcoming Uncharted movie, wants Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to play the lead villain if the movie gets a sequel. But now, according to insider Daniel Richtman, Holland wants Robert Downey Jr to play his nemesis in a potential second movie.

Recently, all filming for the Uncharted movie was completed, and while most of the movie’s main cast has been revealed, some of their roles, including the lead villain, haven’t been revealed. But, as of right now, it’s probably safe to assume that Antonio Banderas will play the movie’s main antagonist.

Of course, the upcoming Uncharted movie will adopt aspects of Sony’s video game series, but before filming began, Tom Holland said that the project will serve as an origin story for Nathan Drake, which will make it worth watching for both fans and for people who haven’t played any of the four mainline Naughty Dog games.

“I think what Uncharted offers that most video games films don’t is that it’s an origin story to the games,” said Holland during his chat with IGN. “So if you played the games, you haven’t seen what’s going to happen in the film. And if you haven’t played the games, you’re going to enjoy the film because it’s information that everyone else is getting at the same time. But I’m super excited to make that movie and it’s been a long time coming.”

While the movie was being filmed, Nolan North, who is the voice actor behind Nathan Drake, visited the movie’s set and had nothing but positive things to say about the movie and Tom Holland following his visit, telling The Gamer that he thinks Holland will be “really good” as the series’ lead protagonist.

“Well, Tom doesn’t need any mentoring,” said North. “I got the chance to talk to him and his brother, Harry, and both of them are huge fans of Uncharted. When you find that out, and when you get to meet Tom in person, he’s gonna do it justice. He’s going to do very, very well. He’s very athletic, he’s a talented dancer, and a very physically gifted performer.”

As previously mentioned, filming for Sony’s Uncharted movie finished back in November, and as of right now, it’s scheduled to be released in theaters in July of next year.
