If you’re a Resident Evil fan, you know April 3 is a very important date to have marked on your calendar. It’s when the remake of Resident Evil 3 comes out. Based on early impressions, this game is elevating the original in all of the right ways much like what Resident Evil 2 Remake did.

Capcom has a successful recipe going and it doesn’t seem like they’ll be stopping any time soon. Although April 3 is the official release date, that doesn’t mean you have to wait a couple of more weeks to get in on this amazing zombie action.

A demo for Resident Evil 3 Remake actually just came out. It’s available for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. So if you’re looking to get a head start and experience some thrilling moments as Jill Valentine, it’s definitely worth the download. You won’t have to spend any money and you can see what potential this survival-horror game has.

The demo is titled Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City. It’s thus safe to assume you’ll be spending a lot of time moving through Raccoon City and experiencing different areas. Early visuals are painting quite the experience. Where Resident Evil 2 Remake mainly took place in a police station, this latest remake seems like it will be more open ended.

There are plenty of settings you’ll get to move throughout, and you’ll have an uneasy feeling often because of the narrow sections. You’ll have to be strategic with which streets you take as to avoid zombies. Not only that, but you can bet Project Nemesis will be hot on your tail throughout various parts of this demo.

That should keep the tension alive and well as you try to rescue survivors in the city. It was also revealed earlier in the week that the demo would be including a scavenger hunt. It seems like the perfect activity to break up the intense survival action.

Picking up this demo is as easy as visiting an appropriate store and downloading the link. You won’t have to pay a dime and you’ll have several hours of gameplay to test out firsthand. Also, the Project Resistance demo for the multiplayer section is set to come out March 27. It seems like a great change of pace from the campaign, where you’ll get to play with other survivors and make your way through rooms full of traps and zombies.

Resident Evil 3 Remake isn’t even out yet, and already, you can just feel the excitement building.
