So Naughty Dog gave out some really nice instruction for The Last of Us Part II Remastered in No Return mode, with Abby contentedly feasting on opulent meals. The tweet in question told people who are choosing to play No Return as everyone’s favorite controversial buff queen to “use melee to your advantage”- nothing wrong with that.
New mode No Return is for roguelike survival exclusive PS5 and PC remaster, where players including Abby who fight became randomly brought in combat snares while players controlled various characters. And for someone who has tried the original, you know abby’s melee game is just *chef’s kiss*.
She swings the pipe like Olympic sport, and now confirms developers just about blunt objects (and fists) as her best friends in this mode.
No Return progressed you on the fly adapt and if action speaks louder than words, how Abby punishes at close quarters makes her a monster even to human foes and to Infected ones. Clickers? More like *snackers* as she winds up for a haymaker.
It even had links for getting a hold of the remaster for PS5, Steam, and Epic because let’s be real—after reading that, some of y’all are gonna impulse-buy it just to relive the glory of Abby’s brawl sessions.
What’s crazy is, it was an empty field when we checked – not even any replies to this tweet. Usually, TLOU discourse is more on fire than an apocalypse in Seattle, but this time? Crickets. I guess everyone is too busy playing No Return to argue online (a miracle, honestly). Maybe the Abby hate train finally ran out of gas (doubtful).
Whatever it is, Naughty Dog knows the crowd well. They did not merely remaster the game; they even extended the already-bursting parameters of engagement in its combat, and Abby’s playstyle is a simple, hard contrast. Whether you love or hate her guts, swinging a melee weapon as her feels *right*.
So if you’re doing the No Return thing tonight, remember: Abby doesn’t need a gun because she’s got these hands. And guess what? Neither do you. Go punch a Bloater in the face and come back. We will wait.
But for real, come back. We need clips.
