Developed by Supermassive Games and Published by Bandai Namco Entertainment through the Engine: Unreal Engine, even the publishers themselves have brought it upon themselves to suggest that players don’t make an attempt to play this new frightening game alone.

The game Man of Medan takes place in the South Pacific. The storyline follows five friends as they set forth on a vacation and sail out on a diving trip, taking their boat towards a location where they have heard rumors that there will be a WWII wreck.

While they are on their journey their relaxing, adventurous holiday takes a turn for the worse when a massive storm rolls in and terrorizes their boat.

Designers of the game used multiple experiments to make the effects in Man of Medan as realistic as possible. Including the sounds and movements of the boat, the storm, and the ocean. Designers even went so far as to make sure the lighting effects were spot on as the ship’s in-game crew members use their flashlights underneath the ocean’s surface.

The Bandai Namco Entertainment website features a Man of Medan developer diary log that documents how the game developers provided a realistic and truly scary gameplay experience.

The game plays out in a series of scenes where the player makes the choice and decides the future of the character they are currently playing. Every playable character in the game has the ability to live or to die. It is up to the player to make the choices that determine the character’s fate.

A preorder Curator’s Cut version of the game is available now at bandainamcoent.com which includes new perspectives from different characters and new choices within the in-game scenes. With the new available choices will come newly available outcomes for the characters
