The installation of The Division 2 patch allows players to jump right into the Battle for Brooklyn DLC, so long as they have the Ubisoft+ subscription. Whereas the push announcement and the DLC were hailed in the same limelight together, the replies turned into a conflicting array of excitement, frustration, and chaos.

Firstly: consider the good news. If you have the Ubisoft+ subscription, then the DLC can take you directly in—or nearly there. The Battle for Brooklyn is already available for players, bringing fresh missions, enemies, and loots. Nonetheless, she has not arrived smoothly for everybody. Numerous reports of server problems, withheld content, and straight challenges by the players to the DLC price have started to appear.

One player, @Brandan62257218, stated literally that the DLC was “very mid,” meaning it was too short and gave hardly any new content to hold interest. @Thee_QueenAshe further said with an 82 lava-level outrage that her squad got kicked at last-hour boss pressure, logged back in, to find themselves back at the very beginning. That would almost entirely constitute rage-quit territory.

Then there are the tech issues: @PillowsCoolside has reported that Cap’n backpack talent seems not to function properly (it should triple the amount of the stat, not just double). @sleuthtimelord cannot even locate the Brooklyn Bridge add-on because it is missing from their menu. And, @TevinGaming793? He cannot get into the DLC through Ubisoft+ itself, even though that is exactly what it is supposed to accomplish.

And, do not forget the Shepard system—or rather, whether the concept might actually work. @dynowski_ wanted to know if the caretaker system would ever be usable beyond experience because not everybody has time for grinding endorsements. Honestly, that is a fair question.

Okay, good things come about, and there are some hopes from players towards things like cross-progression (which is a biggie since it would allow people to, you know, switch between platforms without losing progress). That was brought by @terrone_elsmore and @Debonair_Corvus, while @ryderjj89 was crystal clear that he doesn’t think it will ever be a thing, “probably Division 3.”

And then…nobody has any idea exactly what @SurfaceVisuals was trying to imply with “janky-ass piece of shit.” We aren’t going to get into that one.

So what is the verdict? Well, the Battle for Brooklyn DLC is sufficient for Division 2 fans to check out if tools will allow it. If not, patch a couple times, or just wait for Division 3 to roll around. Of course, there are some fires Ubisoft needs to put out before anyone can warm their hands around this new chapter.

Right now, watch those server updates and maybe stay off those legendary missions until that disconnectiness gets fixed. Trust us on that one.
