Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is putting the entire Battle Network series on PC, PS4, and Switch, and it’s also adding online capabilities to every game in the series. Capcom announced this collection at a Mini Direct this summer. It includes every game in the Battle Network series: Battle Network, Battle Network 2, Battle Network 3 Blue and White, Battle Network 4 Blue Moon and Red Sun, Battle Network 5 Team Colonel and Team Protoman, and Battle Network 6 Cybeast Gregar and Falzar.

A few features, such as a series of visual graphics and a music mode, were announced at the time of the announcement, but there hasn’t been much news since then. Masakazu Eguchi, the game director, joined the stage at Tokyo Game Show to discuss the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection.

It was a brief announcement that every game in the Mega Man Battle Network series will feature online play. This means that in each game, users will be able to participate in online combat and chip trading. Previous games required Link Cables between Game Boy Advance handhelds to participate, which are now obviously obsolete. Considering that the most recent games in the series, Cybeast Gregar, and Falzar, were released in 2005, this series arrives around 18 years after the conclusion of the last game.

Mr. Future affirms that this online feature is something Capcom is currently working on, meaning it will be available before the game’s release date. Fans will no longer be separated, which augurs well for the collection’s release.
However, there is still plenty to learn, and between now and 2023, there is plenty of time. Uncertain as to when in 2023 the collection would be released, Mr. Future also promised that Capcom will provide additional information about the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection during a future presentation.

But there is still a lot to learn, and 2023 is still a long way off. It’s not clear when the collection will come out in 2023, but Mr. Future also said that Capcom will talk more about the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection in the future performance.
