If you’re a fan of the RPG gaming genre, then you’ll be pleased to know that Bayonetta is now available through the Steam platform for only $5. This is an incredible deal for such a classic RPG. It’s quite honestly one of the best action PC games to ever come out, and it will only be on sale until Tuesday.
Developed by Platinum Games, Bayonetta features a hack-and-slash type of combat. That doesn’t make it boring either. There are plenty of weapons and items to collect, which will keep you grinding for many weeks.
It originally released for the Xbox 360 and PS3 back in 2009. The PC version is still the best iteration of this game to date. From the moment you enter this world, you’ll be hooked. There is so much to see and do. The lore is extremely fleshed out, which is nice to see if you care about story development in a video game.
You take on the role of Bayonetta, who wakes up at the bottom of a lake with no idea of what has transpired. She’s beautifully rendered and her amnesia makes you want to push forward to find out answers. You’re in search for a mythical macguffin. Along the way, you’ll run into several different types of enemies.
Going back to the combat, it’s quite in-depth for a hack-and-slash game. You get a basic kick and punch, which can be carried out in a number of ways depending on the weapons you have equipped. You have special finishers available as well, which unload a lot of damage. You’ll want to save them for the tougher enemies in the game, though.
When you’re not unloading brutal blows, you’ll have the opportunity to dodge enemy attacks. The dodging mechanism has been crafted perfectly by the developers. It feels so nice to just get out of the way with a right sidestep and then plunge forward with a devastating blow of your own.
Bayonetta is not just a character devoid of emotion, either. She has a lot of personality. You’ll be captivated by her every word, as her quick wit is revealed time and time again.
If you haven’t had the chance to play Bayonetta, there’s no better time than now. You’ll spend hours with the main protagonist, taking out unique enemies and completing quests in search of answers. It’s hard to find a better value for such a deep RPG.
