You’ll receive a couple of bonuses for pre-purchasing, as you might expect. For example, those that pre-purchase the title will receive the Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle for free. This bundle adds a bit of exclusive content that can be used immediately in other Call of Duty titles, such as the Modern Warfare multiplayer, Spec Ops, and Warzone.
In the pack, players will find the UTD Ghost Operator skin from the Modern Warfare 2 campaign mission “The Only Easy Day…Was Yesterday” as well as a few weapon blueprints, a weapon charm, a finishing move, calling card, emblem, and a voice clip for Ghost. Finally, you’ll also receive two Battle Pass tier skips.
“From basic training in S.S.D.D. to the thrilling climax of Endgame, the fate of the world is in your hands as you accompany Task Force 141 alongside fan favorites Captain John Price, Gary ‘Roach’ Sanderson, and Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley,” Blizzard writes. Another interesting tidbit they include is that some of the locales in the remaster might be recognizable from some locales that were added into Call of Duty: Warzone, the free battle royale title that’s been making waves.
On one hand, it’s a bit of a shame that the team is selling the multiplayer and campaign separately rather than including them together as they originally were. It feels like the only real reason for this might’ve been to make players purchase two games if they want to experience the multiplayer and the campaign.
On the other hand, these games are absolutely massive. Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer is close to a 200gb installation, and the campaign likely won’t be too small of a title itself. Activision likely had no choice but to split it up due to size, which works out in a way since some players might’ve had to skip out on both out of literally just not having enough memory to hold the games.
Whatever the reason for the split, the campaign is coming soon! If you want to grab the Underwater Demo Team bundle for immediate use, head to the Battle.net client and complete your pre-purchase!
