Tacticals Increase DPS Potential For Gunslingers And Snipers In Star Wars The Old Republic

As two of four pure DPS classes, the tacticals for the Gunslinger and Sniper are much more focused than the other classes. Since the job of the Gunslinger and Sniper is to do damage, the tacticals have to boost abilities that do this, as well as ensure that these classes can survive long enough to do so in pitched battles.

Starting off with the generic tacticals for the Gunslinger and Sniper, the CS-3 Velocity Holo-Dampener tactical makes it so that Hideout/Hololocate increases the player’s damage reduction by 15% for 10 seconds when they return to their marker. This tactical is dropped from PVP equipment crates.

Kolto Bombardment is a tactical that grants a healing ability to an existing move; XS Freighter Flyby/Orbital Strike heals allies in the area whenever it ticks. This interesting tactical is dropped from Conquest Equipment crates, so players who want this will need to go all-in on Conquest Objectives, a process that works faster when done with a guild.

Sniper Siege is a pure damage tactical, making it so enemies take 10% more damage while under Sweeping Gunfire/Suppressive Fire, though this does not affect Operation bosses. This is a tactical that drops from Daily and Weekly mission reward crates.

Technical Debt makes it so Flourish Shot/Shatter Shot applies Tech Debt to its target. Whenever the target is healed, so is the player for a small amount. This tactical is crafted by Artifice, so if a player wants this, they’ll need to be at tier 11 and have the required materials to craft it.

The discipline-specific tacticals are for the Sharpshooter and Marksmanship disciplines. Having the Agitating Energies tactical makes it so Vital Shot/Corrosive Dart deals more damage and dealing damage with Trick Shot/Followthrough and Penetrating Rounds/Penetrating Blast refreshes its bleed effect on its target and ticks its damage. This is a tactical gained from Operation bosses.

B-0 Differential Targeting System makes it so activating Hightail It/Covered Escape or returning to the player’s marker with Hideout/Hololocate makes the next Aimed Shot/Ambush activate instantly and deal 20% more damage. This tactical is gained from defeating Flashpoint bosses.

The Refraction Point tactical makes it so Penetrating Rounds/Penetrating Blast does splash damage to targets around the primary target and causes the next Trick Shot/Followthrough to deal splash damage as well. This tactical is also gained from Flashpoint bosses.

The Saboteur and Engineering disciplines are burst explosive disciplines, and their tacticals help with this. The MG-2 Polygrade Dispersal Caps tactical makes it so that when Explosive Charge’s Contingency Charges/Cluster Bombs detonate, they deal damage to all enemies around their target. This tactical is gained from Operation bosses.

Ruthless Interrogation makes it so Speed Shot/Series of Shots refreshes Shock Charge/Interrogation Probe and ticks its damage every time it hits. It also makes it so Blazing Speed/Electrified Railgun does 75% more damage. This tactical is gained from Flashpoint bosses.

T0-R0 Ionic Discharge has Explosive Charge/Explosive Probe only triggers from Sabotage/EMP Discharge and deals 50% more damage. This final Saboteur and Engineering tactical is gained from Daily and Weekly Mission reward crates.

The final set of tacticals are for Dirty Fighting and Virulence, the DOT Disciplines. Starting with Airborne Agents, the Shrap Bomb/Corrosive Grenade abilities spread Hemorrhaging Blast/Weakening Blast’s effect. Dirty Blast/Lethal Shot also does splash damage to all targets affected by Shrap Bomb/Corrosive Grenade. And this tactical is gained from defeating Flashpoint bosses.

Exploited Weakness is a tactical that makes it so Hemorrhaging Blast/Weakening Blast deals 50% more damage. It also has dealing damage with Dirty Blast/Lethal Shot causes the target to take bleed damage over 18 seconds. It is dropped from Operation bosses.

Ultraviolet Blast makes it so Hemorrhaging Blast/Weakening Blast finishes off all bleed/poison effects at once, dealing all the remaining damage in full at one time. However, Hemorrhaging Blast/Weakening Blast’s cooldown is increased by 6 seconds. Players can get this tactical from the Daily and Weekly Mission reward crates.

There are fewer possible options for tacticals to modify a pure DPS class like the Gunslinger and the Sniper, but all these tacticals make them more potent for content to come. Players won’t want to miss out on the one that best suites their playstyle.
