The Summer Game Fest 2025 is already on its way, and Geoff Keighley has unveiled all the airtimes across the globe so that no one anywhere misses it. A 4K, 60FPS livestream will be presented—this in gaming language is the equivalent of having blockbuster content in IMAX. On the official Summer Game Fest website, feel free to stream the entire show, and seriously, now might be a good time to set reminders. The whole show will be jam-packed with announcements and trailers, sprinkled with maybe a few surprises that stop the Internet in its tracks.
Yet, to be really frank, all gamers have been a little divided on what to expect. Some can’t contain their excitement, Mudassar Raza included, who tweeted, “Get ready, gamers! 🎮 Global hype loading.” Some others are… shall we say, cautiously optimistic about the whole thing. Aleiii exclaimed, “This sh8 better be good, dont waste our time,” and one needs to give full respect to such. Geoff Keighley has risen and fallen with the rest of us throughout the years of E3-esque showcases, so the players really don’t expect every single announcement to hit it out of the park.
Now comes the timezone madness. GameDev, a Brazillian fan, tweeted: “Vou sair correndo do meu trabalho as 18 BRT, e bom valer a pena.” Translated, that means: “I’m gonna run out of work at 6 PM BRT, and this better be worth it.” Talk about loyal! Simultaneously, a Saudi player confirmed that the broadcast will start starting at midnight their time; kudos to the bars that will stay up all night for this.
Well, the speculation train has set itself in motion. Dannyking4 responded, “Kingdom hearts 4 👀,” because let us be honest- Square Enix really enjoys throwing in a curveball. Then, we have GermanStrands, who is convinced something big is coming and tweets, “this will be it folks (not yet denied)!” along with a link that has probably spawned about a dozen conspiracy theories by now.
However, some of them are not sold just yet. Paladin summed up a lot of feelings when they said, “I know it’s going to be a mediocre show but I’ll still watch it lol.” And there you have it – the beauty of Summer Game Fest: even if half of the vacation is mid, that one trailer will be worth it for everyone.
So, what can one expect? No idea. But with Geoff teasing a two-hour stream (which Tyr hilariously roasted with “2 hours ??? Yeah fuck right off 😂”), it’s safe to say there’s going to be something for everyone. New reveals, updates on exceedingly long-awaited games, or just a bunch of memes flooding the chat; Summer Game Fest is going to be a very fun explosive mess, for sure.
