Stellar Blade, the studio that is on the forefront of stellar-heavy-action game development with Stellar Blade, has dropped a literal bombshell about upgrading their 3D scan rig. I mean, it is no ordinary setup; it could well be out of a sci-fi movie! The team even joked that it took two months to sort out a nest of cables. That’s a ton of cables.

The tweet went crazy viral, trashing theories over what the upgrade could mean for Stellar Blade going forward, especially in terms of a sequel. The first iteration looks great already, and now this update? Man, Stellar Blade 2 could get really unfairly crazy.

People in the reply section were already going crazy. Jose Bello went on to say that if Shift Up was to do a sequel in Unreal Engine 5, the visuals would be going completely insane. Another jumped in with the “500 nanosuits” jab at the scanner, and Kojima comparisons started flooding in because, frankly, this setup looks like it came right out of a Metal Gear Solid dev room.

Speaking of Kojima, some wondered if Shift Up took some advice from the legendary creator. After all, Kim Hyung Tae, the director of Stellar Blade was recently seen alongside Kojima in a now-deleted tweet. Coincidence? Maybe. To be fair, though, he is obsessed with cutting-edge tech, so he likely would have shared some tips.

The wait for Stellar Blade’s PC version is a long one, though anticipation remains super high. One guy who tested the demo admitted that he had to try Abaddon four times before getting it, but the satisfaction was really worth it. If the adrenaline rush of the full game is anything like the demo, the sequel will take us all to new heights of ecstasy.

Well, not everybody bought into it. One sarcastically suggested that maybe Shift Up should invest in better writing instead of putting all the money into hi-tech. Ouch. But if the gameplay and visuals are just as tight as they seem, the story won’t really matter much, will it?

And now, for the jokes. One tweeted, “4-D jiggle physics,” referencing the game’s… uh, ahem… high level of attention to detail. Another just threw his wallet at the screen. Well, can’t really blame them.

What does this really mean? If they’re even entertaining the idea of making a sequel now, when the release of the first game is yet to happen, it’s a reflection of how deeply rooted their confidence is in this project. Having said that, with these technologies at their disposal, Stellar Blade 2 can technically be taken to realms no one’s even conceptualized yet.

The wait is in the meantime. We can only practice our dodges as Abaddon inevitably makes his comeback in the sequel. Because the first one’s harsh; the latter? Nah, we are not ready.
