Star Wars fans and Fortnite players better grip their seats for a bumpy ride. New loading artwork in Fortnite is heavily dripping with Star Wars visages: ambience with lightsabers and stormtroopers. The internet is buzzing, and so are we; same here!
The sharp shooters of the leak community for Fortnite, Vespy_Takes W and iFireMonkey, found that tweet concerning a crossover thing before the rest of lesser-informed Fortnite public. The image is of what appears an older-school futuristic-cum-Star-Wars city—a mix between Tatooine and Tilted Towers, quite frickin’ awesome.
Nothing from Epic or Disney officially yet, so come on, it’s an announcement that something big is departing anyways.
Why now is this important: Fortnite is famous for crazy crossovers, many of them with Marvel or DC-Even Travis Scott had his virtual concert. But Star Wars is at the top.
The franchise has come visiting before with skins like Kylo Ren or Rey, but an entire loading screen means something much larger is approaching-Perhaps-a Star Wars event? New skins? A lightsaber as a weapon? (Come on, Epic! Give us lightsabers!).
The timing is also quite interesting. Soon comes the celebration of the Star Wars event, with new releases such as The Acolyte; Disney is really banking on Star Wars hype right now.
If they collaborate with Fortnite now, that would be a really power move. And let’s be honest-the Playerbase is going to flip a switch for a Darth Vader skin or, even better, Baby Yoda. Grogu-emoting would break the internet.
So, what follows? Well, incidents like these get followed by an announcement much sooner than later to herald the start of official communiqués on the subject. Epic loves to tease things before dropping them, so anybody that sees communication of any kind on their socials should be watching.
And if you consider yourself a Star Wars fan but you have yet to try Fortnite…well…maybe it really is time. Just saying.
Meanwhile, all forms of speculation are crazily buzzing around. Some fans say it is connected with May the fourth, while others have staked their tears on a surprise update.
Either way, one thing is certain-Fortnite is headed towards an even more galactic arrangement very soon.
And you know what? If it does turn out to be an event, let’s hope it’s far better than when they threw in all that Rise of Skywalker stuff and everyone just sort of forgot about it. Fingers crossed for lightsaber battles in Battle Royale.
So totally keep your eyes peeled then. Strong with this one, the Force is.
