Square Enix did a Twitter stream opening, asking its fans to share their most epic gaming moments ever, and thereupon followed pure mayhem! Majestic screenshots, glorious glitched-out moments, and a whole mixture of nostalgia and hype worthy of roasting! But next week? Cozy. Because nothing says emotional whiplash going from massive boss fights to just sitting back and sipping warm beverages.
First off-the-schools major shots of summons, climaxes, and cutscenes were shared in the initial ugly post by Square Enix; and a literal roast-fest ensued from the replies. The responses went all over the place since some honestly took the invitation of epic to mean jaw-dropping Final Fantasy moments, while others…let’s just say opinions.
Account @ApePupo12 started joking, calling the alleged “peak design” of the FF17 protagonist and set a fake 2028 release date. Classic. Meanwhile, @ManuelKreman took a backhand jab when he called Just Cause 4’s achievements “epic development” in quotes, clearly a sarcastic insult. Ouch. Then, @BoyMadeOfRice went in, telling Square Enix outright to go back to making classic JRPGs instead of “Nomura’s garbage.” Harsh, but that’s what passion looks like in this fandom.
The real MVP has to be @TechyChann, delivering a long paragraph expounding on how “epic” doesn’t have to mean explosions, sometimes it means the quiet, soul-grinding moments (he says, looking at you, FFX). And then Square Enix… well, Square Enix just dropped the “next week’s theme is cozy” message like it never even happened. Savage.
Of course, every gaming-related interaction in existence inevitably spells “fix your game.” Chaos ensued. @Chresna_Aditya posted a screenshot of a funny glitch and thirdly commented, “need to fix this, square.” And @Devilus2? At that time, they’re flaunting an image of a physical game actually working. No downloads, no patches, just pure, raw nostalgia. Could have been so rare in 2024.
Then the wholesome moments began. @Valkyrie_Wyvern raved about Permafrost, @ChristineYamat2 just wanted to hug a Moogle, and @UGamer81 called out for more Xenogears love, while @samkenwah proclaimed, “All of FF16” being their epic moment. Valid.
Throwing fuel on the fire was the ongoing debate on what’s better: remakes or originals? @Farris214 called the FF7 Remake “ass,” while @Killjoy3879 kept on with “remakes are better than og.” The fight rages on.
And for some international spice, @MisterX_2099 and @KingHassan27 served up a French roast, complete with clown emojis and, uh, colorful phrasing. Google Translate had quite a field day.
So what’s next? “Cozy” week. Will the fans post serene overworld campsites for all to enjoy? Or will there be a sneaky emotional gut-punch disguised under “warm vibes”? Anyway, the Square Enix community never fails—equal parts love, salt, and pure chaos.
If you missed this one, go back and skim through the thread. Just avoid the comments lest you not be ready for the heat.
