Seven million players! Can you imagine the sheer scale of success the Universe of Warhammer 40K has seen? Focus Entertainment declared Space Marine 2 as having crossed the threshold of 7 million players. So yes, 7 MILLION. A huge and heartfelt thank-you goes to the community. And oh, the players are asking for more worlds now: more maps, more classes, more of everything.
What is Space Marine 2 really? In essence, it’s the much-awaited sequel to the cult classic, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine, an engrossing hit since day one. Players put themselves in the boots of a superhuman Space Marine, heavy on monsters, either through hardcore melee killing or heavy firepower. Gamers love that.
While the devs are shedding champagne moments, the Space Marine community is still unsatisfied, looking forward to more. The replies to the tweet announcement are full of demands: some want new classes like Tech Marines or Apothecaries, others are begging for new multiplayer maps. One funny suggestion stood out: “Give me Legion of the Damned,” referencing one of the most secretive factions in Warhammer lore.
Then comes the everlasting question-will Space Marine 2 go on Game Pass? Some players are calling this a no-brainer. “Put it on GamePass, you will see more numbers, trust,” says one reply. Others are just glad for what they have and call it their “eternal GOTY.”
Not everyone actually loves it. Some critics called it boring as hell, but 7 million players cannot be all wrong. As such, Space Marine 2 has found a loving home in their hearts.
Next thing on the idea table would be, what is supposed to happen now? Already hyped for Space Marine 3, a fan mused about a Roboute Guilliman cameo-the legendary Ultramarines Primarch himself. Now that definitely is something Focus Entertainment will have to start teasing about very soon with Space Marine’s continued success.
For now, Warhammer cultists are just enjoying the ride. An enthusiastic “FOR THE EMPEROR!” would probably sum up the hype. The numbers are so big that one can say that the Emperor would smile.
If you haven’t made it to their ranks yet, then what are you holding back for? The battlefield is calling, and 7 million players are crying.
