Making dirty money so to speak is an update that Rockstar Games recently released for GTA Online, and the update was just okay. The DLC adds in the Hands On Car Wash, by which businesses players wash dirty cars and, well, clean some dirty money. What is GTA if it is not an illegal enterprise to while away the time?

This is just a little annoyance of an update that further adds a dispensary to money fronts: Smoke on the Water (because why not?) and Higgins Helitours-a helicopter tour company in Los Santos! Rockstar released this update with a tweet dripping with sarcasm: “Start scrubbing your bottom line… where dirty money flows in and squeaky-clean cash flows out.” These guys really know how to market a game.

While some players remain eager to jump into the new stuff, others are simply worn out by all of this; the reactions during announcement time were a roller coaster of excitement, frustration, and the continual pleading for GTA 6.

@Sol_bits gave a booming summary: “Waiting for GTA 6, arbitrum… who else is excited?” Then there’s @KRandall4505, who jokingly said, “GTA has turned into a day job simulator,” and you know what-and it is true. Running businesses in GTA Online sometimes very much feels like a second job.

Then we have the critics of the update: @aquick98aq, for example, put it plainly, “Wtf is with the comments supporting the update? It’s so mundane and lacking good real money-making content.” For @WastedPenguin, the update is “fcking boring”—and that is with all due respect to the Car Wash’s $1,000,000 income cap).

Then again, not all were pissed. @lilyoda5172 said the update is “quite fun tbh,” and @ohAaronn said it is “more interesting than the previous one.” So by default, like all GTA Online updates, this one is divisive as well.

The real gorilla in the room? GTA 6. No matter what Rockstar Tweets, the stream of “WHERE’S GTA 6?!” comments mobbed this update, too. @SomewhereVI speculated, “December may be the last big update before GTA VI,” and @DevontaSmityy was looking beyond that, saying, “Can’t wait for the DLCs y’all have planned for GTA 6.”

For the record, here’s @IGN_Doritos being salty about having to buy the Car Wash first: “Solo quiero Smoke on the Waterz por qué tengo que comprar primero el Car Wash? FUCK!!”

So yeah, just another day in the GTA Online world-players grinding, players complaining, and everyone still waiting on a GTA 6 reveal. Will Rockstar ever give us what we truly want? Most likely. Someday. Probably.

Until then, though, if you ever dreamed about running a car wash between your heist sessions, this update aims at you. Just don’t expect it to stay hot for long.
