Riot together with Fortnite may have a lot of things to show outside Jinx and Vi from Arcane. Yes, the two gaming giants have been discussing possible collaborations for several years now, but only the two Arcane sisters made the lineup so far.

That’s quite a whole well under the table of what ifs. In fact, a recent statement dropped by Riot’s co-founder dropped a juicy hint said: “Since 2021, Fortnite has been able to evolve a ton with new experiences and collabs, and we’ve had a lot of conversations with Epic about what might be possible.”

What could have been? Imagine a world where Yasuo swings his sword in Fortnite, or Lux blasts enemies down with her ult courtesy of League’s giant roster of iconic champs. Or, wild thought- what if they dropped a whole TFT-inspired mode? The possibilities are endless, and now fans are left wondering why nothing else materialized.

Was it legalities? Creative disputes? Or just poor timing? Riot’s statement doesn’t clarify anything but does say that there were talks happening. And really, that is rather frustrating-knowing there were at least some discussions and nothing came out of it (yet).

Fortnite is known for such craziness in crossover events: Dragon Ball, Marvel, and LEGOs, even. So why should Arcane be any different? Maybe Epic and Riot hoard something really great for later. Perhaps they just fell short on negotiations. In either case, the door remains ajar, and the fans are already speculating really hard.

Some want the whole League battle pass, while others only want K/DA skins to vibe with. And let us be frank – if Fortnite can get Eminem, they can surely get Ahri.

Now, all we know is that, apparently, Riot and Epic are in the kitchen cooking SOMETHING. The real question is whether, or when, that something is brought to fruition, however. History proves, however, that those Fortnite collabs are just sort of inevitable-so don’t count this one out just yet.

Next time maybe, we will get an event with a Teemo backbling. Better still, a global event where the entire League roster descends on the island. A gamer can dream, right?
