The blizzard entertainment company makes a game studio that is world-famous for not merely engaging with their mythic franchises of World of Warcraft and Overwatch but also things happening outside in Albany, New York. Here, the latest game is immortalized in their grand staircase. And what’s the latest? Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred.
There was a tweet by the official account of Blizzard that told this fun detail of their history with a flaming photo of the stairwell: nostalgic hype explosion. It certainly means a lot for all Diablo fandom to see this most recent one carved beside Blizzard’s legacy after a great hyped launch earlier this year.
What is even cooler is that every game, big and sometimes small, received its own moment along the stairwell. That’s pretty awesome, from Warcraft all the way through to Diablo IV. It’s like a wall history of all Blizzard’s greatest hits. What a great way to memorialize their hard work!
And though that tweet hasn’t spurred any wild replies yet, one can only imagine that the Diablo fan base is going to go wild with that! It boasts one of the most diehard communities in all gaming, so seeing Blizzard acknowledge their latest demon-slaying adventure in such a permanent way gets them hyped for what is next.
Speaking of next, Vessel of Hatred actually happens to be the first official expansion of Diablo IV, and judging by the stairwell treatment, Blizzard must be pouring in a lot of effort with it. People are already buzzing with theories over new classes, new storylines, and, of course, more loot. And, if history is any teacher with Blizzard, they don’t go erecting things like that in the stairwell for just anything; it has to be truly special.
So, swing on by and see the making of history in gaming if you’re in Albany. Just don’t expect them to let you walk up that stairwell-some things are sacred.
At the moment, though, Diablo fans know that their favorite franchise is literally carved into the legacy of Blizzard. And with Vessel of Hatred hanging just over the horizon, that stairwell is only going to get busier.
And where was I? Right: Blizzard’s stairwell is supercool, Diablo IV roxxes, and we’re going to lose sleep post-expansion drops. End of story.
