Blizzard just released DokiWatch Episode 4 with Season 16 Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle for Overwatch, and the community has been going bonkers—and not necessarily for the right reasons. New content includes the Heroes of Heart storylines with Freja and Brigitte, but the community has had… let’s say, mixed reactions.
All right, let’s get to the good stuff. The DokiWatch series continues with silly anime-style lorebuilding for Overwatch, leaving you somewhat with an “aww” or an “ugh.” We get introduced to Hero variants Heart of Courage Freja and Heart of Strength Brigitte tied to the Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle. And, honestly, this trailer slaps hard—with glittery effects, dramatic hero team-ups, and all—the glue holding it all together was Ana, who was the best Team Mom for everyone-ever.
Then we move to the really bad stuff. Players commenting? They weren’t sharing the feeling of some of them. Some of them are roasting Winston’s fate, while others wish their favorites to get more screen time. Someone even demanded, “Give me a Mercy DokiWatch skin,” and, honestly? I feel the same.
The usual Overwatch drama followed suit. Sombra mains are still salty about the rework, Lifeweaver’s sudden appearance in the lore is downright baffling, and someone just straight-up asked, “Where is Midtown 24/7?” (A fairly good question, might I add.) And topping it all is a user who just threw out “Monkey Testicles” in the replies without provocation. Classic Overwatch Twitter.
Blizzard tried to jump into the chaos, engaging with some playful teases like, “Winton needs help 🥲,” and to the assertion that Ana naturally is the team emotional support sniper. However, all the other, bigger complaints have gone quiet. You know, the ones about hero neglect or bug fixes (endorsement reset) coming.
Meanwhile, the Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle is now live, offering new hero variants, cosmetics, and possibly shiny distractions for Blizzard to throw at the growing list of problems. Eh. Would it work? Probably not. The Overwatch community is a hard one to please, with half of its members still in a funeral for the Synthwave Lifeweaver skin (RIP).
So basically, we are in for Season 16 with more lore, more skins, and still more player requests that go unanswered. Whether you’re slowly digesting the DokiWatch storyline or there just for the memes, one thing is for sure—Overwatch updates are always wrapped in chaos. And we honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go find out why Winston is in trouble again.
