Overwatch sneaked in a sneaky little challenge for the players, and, to say the least, some players are having difficulty with it. With the caption “There’s a sniper lurking around and she’s found her next target 🎯 Did you spot the sniper in time? Let us know if you were able to find her down in the comments ✨,” the Overwatch Twitter account officially shared the image.

The responses came thick and fast. Some players responded by flexing their eagle eyes on Widowmaker and spotted her in seconds, while others…uhm, let’s just say they may want to consider an eye test. pom ♡ came through with, “i have NO idea where she is because i’m blind without my glasses.” Too much to relate with, really.

Then commenced the real chaos with the comment section imploding in a storm of hilariously random demands and thread derailments. One of the completely derailed questions was whether the sniper was gay (??), while another demanded, nearly at the same time, a free Symmetra skin. Classic Overwatch community antics.

A few opponents came at him swiftly. N3X0N uploaded a zoomed-in screen capture with a “Not that hard” line, whilst another user by the name Disciple of Kovács rejoiced, “Found in 10 seconds lol.” Meanwhile, others convinced themselves Kiriko disguised herself as a tree in the background. (She was not.)

Most entertaining were the replies utterly unrelated to the search for the sniper. One lamented, “remove rtard brasil server pls,” while another groused about the Stadium builds being “unplayable.” Then there was that one who only wanted their “random from favorites” option resurrected in the hero gallery.

And you know, an Overwatch thread wouldn’t really be complete without some Widowmaker simpage. “My girl is cute asf :P,” chimed one unwriggling user; the other showed a bit more earnestness about the matter of diving her with Brigitte. (Good luck with that.)

So, did YOU spot the sniper? No? Well, good company is at hand. Some players have likened it to “looking for a cryptid,” which honestly? Fair. Overwatch‘s latest social media stunt was equal parts fun and frustrating, and honestly, that’s the game in a nutshell.

And if you still haven’t gotten her… maybe check the bushes. Just saying.
