With an unheard-of hotfix in the middle of the new patch, Freja mains were definitely NOT amused. The announcement said economy gain for damage done had been reduced, cutting into the ability to snowball a match. Translation? No longer can she just easily make money. And, hey! The patch was immediately deployed. No holding back to coordinate a release.
And there was more. There was a tease in the tweet of “a more targeted set of changes” arriving next week. So, it’s just best to think again if you thought that was the last one on Freja. The Overwatch team is still in tweaking mode, and speculation is all ready in full force on what could be next.
Speaking of reactions-well, chaos broke out-with all drivel on the replies. Some rejoicing, like @FerrerJancarlos that said, “THANK YOU, You guys ruined stadium adding her.” Harsh? Maybe. But Freja’s version of dominance in the mode has been a sore point with a number of players. Others, like @wendywufanpage, were begging the devs not to “nerf her into the ground already.” That is classic Overwatch spirit: Someone gets too strong, they get nerfed, the mains lose their minds.
