No Man’s Sky has unleashed an experimental build on the PC with fixes coming to all platforms. The basic question on everybody’s mind: When will it be Switch 2 players’ turn? The tweet excited so many players, but the replies- oh man, the reply section is an entirely different story.
After all: Experimental patch-being live first on PC-as standard, with the fixes rolling out for other platforms soon. But as for the Switch 2 players? Well, they are presently in limbo-land where synchronizing saves is a matter of version mismatch, if not inability to play at all. It is rather harsh to hear from @PHXTechie: “I can’t even load my main save because PS5-to-Switch 2 sync issues.”
And it’s really not just about cross-save. Players are also facing another painfully-replicable bug: At one point, @bluestreakfl’s settlements were at the “Under Attack” stage, but… nothing happened. It was an endless red alert with no enemies showing up. Talk about a huge letdown. Meanwhile, @Sabredruid can’t even complete their settlement’s construction: “Construction console disappeared. Like, poof-gone.”
Talk about things getting extra bad on Switch 2. @TexasMFer and @PizzaPreacher pleaded for their cloud save to be fixed, while @TheHacw has deemed the game “impossible to play” on the console from day one. Then, there are players like @Jadenfire placing the blame for this on Nintendo’s “glacial-speed” update approval process. Harsh, but…fair?
Optimistic responses did come through as well, with @Marxon1134x expressing relief that their expedition bugs hadn’t returned and @Ditto3210 being thrilled about finally getting the missing Wormskin folios. Then, of course, there’s @JulienBocquet7 who just wants to have deaf kids in their settlement. Uh…sure, why not?
Expecting an official statement from Hello Games on when fixes would hit consoles but with the Switch 2 crowd being this vocal, one would think “soon™” would hit the Tweets. For now, we have PC players test-driving the fixes while everyone else waits. Another settlement decision that doesn’t actually lower maintenance costs just popped up (thanks, @sukaikitsuneNr1).
Good news if you are on PC. For Switch 2 players? Maybe go play something else while Nintendo finally decides to approve the patch. Or mull over your “under attack” settlement as an art installation. Either way, the experimental build at least means fixes…eventually. Maybe. Hopefully.
And hey, @lotti_25, maybe someday we’ll get that portable lamp you’re begging for. Till then, keep placing those ugly base lights like the rest of us.
