Playstation 4 users got first dibs on CoD: Black Ops 4’s Operation Dark Divide, the culminating event of Aether Zombies.
They were the first to test out the new weapons, gear, equipment, and vehicles. Oh, you may also add some tanks in there.
Activision wants to end the Aether Zombies storyline with a bang. And what better way than to launch an ultimate battle royale in two multiplayer maps in a Blackout mode? You will choose a team between heroes and villains.
In the aftermath of the Apocalypse, the world seems back to normal. But then again, this is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and nothing is as it seems. Of course, you are just entering another mode of the game called “Heavy Metal Heroes.”
In Heavy Metal Heroes, your armor will be upgraded into Level 2. You will also be handed a backpack, five armor plates, and 10 first aid kits. You can also make use of the grapple gun anytime you like to explore the map faster. As to the other attachments, you will have to loot them around the map. All loots are designed to enhance your playing style and strategy, so choose carefully.
According to Activision, players will be equipped with an SMG and armor. Everybody starts on equal footing. The mode is designed in such a way that players can make their own origin story.
The Heavy Metal Heroes mode will also allow players to control several vehicles on their way to victory. Among the vehicles are tanks, ATVs, ARAVs, and motorcycles. Two players can fit inside the tank–the driver and the gunner. The tank packs a heavy punch. A blast can decimate the opposition so be on particular lookout for the heavy machinery.
The flare gun is also added to your list of weapons. You can’t train it at the enemy, but you can call in air support to drop tanks on your position. The Operation Dark Divide will also give you a chance to get the Savage Impaler and Winter’s Howl weapons.
Featured in the Dead of the Night map, the Savage Impaler is a crossbow on steroids. It has a high ammo capability so you can use with several times. The Winter Howl is used to freeze zombies. However, the weapon significantly slows down the more you pull the trigger.
The Operation Dark Divide for CoD: Black Ops 4 was launched on Playstation 4 on Sept. 23. The event will arrive on the other platforms soon.
