Tuesday’s State of Play stream ended up being quite newsworthy, as Sony revealed a ton of new content that’ll soon be available on the PlayStation 4. In addition to that, they also revealed the PlayStation Plus free games lineup for next month, as two of their biggest exclusives will be free-to-play for PS Plus subscribers during October.

First, Sony revealed that MLB The Show 19 will be free in October, which makes sense, as Major League Baseball is about to begin its post-season.

The second free game will be The Last of Us Remastered, so if you still haven’t played what’s arguably Sony’s best exclusive, then now’s your chance. Of course, Sony later announced the release date for The Last of Us Part II, which is currently scheduled to be released on the PlayStation 4 on February 21, 2020.

Recently, Sony’s PS Plus free games lineups have been pretty good, as games such as Sniper Elite 4, Wipeout: Omega Collection, Batman: Arkham Knight, and Darksiders III have all been free for subscribers over the last few months.

While Naughty Dog recently shut down the multiplayer servers for their PlayStation 3 games: Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, and The Last of Us, the online servers for The Last of Us Remastered on the PlayStation 4 are still up and running. So, if you’re looking to experience the game’s multiplayer in addition to its incredible single-player story, then you’ll have the opportunity to do so.

MLB The Show 19, which was released back on March 26, features all of the modes that you’d expect in a sports title: a career mode, which is called Road to the Show, franchise mode, and an RPG-type mode called Diamond Dynasty. The game was very well-received by critics after it was released, as reviewers said that it features refined gameplay, the deepest Road to the Show mode in franchise history, and a few noteworthy new game modes.

After being relatively quiet all year, Sony is making sure to close out 2019 in a big way, as they’re beginning to reveal more about some of their most anticipated exclusives. Moreover, they seem to, at least as of late, be concerned about making sure their PS Plus subscriber-base is happy, because, in the past, they haven’t always made being a subscriber worthwhile.

Both MLB The Show 19 and The Last of Us Remastered will become free for PlayStation Plus subscribers at the beginning of next month, but until then, Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders III will remain free until September 30.
