The NBA 2K official account sent Twitter abuzz with a one sentence, “Knicks in six again? 👀,” and a link was thrown in for people to see the whole simulation results; it just matched the attitude in the replies.
The Knicks fans exploded with enthusiasm. Some of the replies said,”Knicks in 5″ and also “Yeah Knicks in 6 🔶🔷,” and yet others commented on how scary accurate the game’s predictions have been. A user named @NYDALYNEWS quoted, “2K has been very accurate so far, “which might mean something given the usual way these simulations turn out. Or maybe not? Are sports ever really predicted?
Well, the result was not entirely accepted, as the ardent Pacers supporters and a few skeptical Knicks fans had a volley of their own. There were plenty of guileful declarations for “Pacers in 6,” one venturing amusement with “Nba 2k25 has also predicted the Bulls would go on to win the finals so there’s that.” Ouch, another says; earlier, it had predicted a Cavs prevail over the Pacers, which technically didn’t pan out. So take those with a pinch of salt.
Others sounded an end to all this. “@NBA2K don’t curse us wtf.” There was another entreating, “Stop cursing us bro.” Like, they’re treating this simulation as if it’s a hex. So true! Superstition runs deep with sports fans.
It really spotted an unconventional range of comments. One said, “that would be 6 6 6,” which… can we not? There was chatter about a corgi prediction(???) that dissented with 2K, and another guy was there jibber-jabbering about the “SLINGSHOT effect” as though it were an actual physics problem instead of a basketball simulation.
And eventually, all is done for stylish debates. NBA 2K’s simulations have been a strangely entertaining sideline during the playoffs, even if they aren’t 100%. Some fans swear by them, some laugh their way through them, and some are just looking for the memes.
But hey, if the Knicks do win in six? People will consider that 2K are really onto something. Otherwise? The best part is that it’s a video game. Or else, that would be some real basketball—that might be simulated or might not.
