Another survey for Monster Hunter Wilds has been pushed by Capcom and the reaction has been… shall we say passionate? The official Monster Hunter Twitter account promised hunters a digital wallpaper as thanks for sharing their opinions about the upcoming game. Instead of politely jotting down suggestions, the replies turned into a war zone for demands and complaints, with a few wishes thrown in for good measure.
The first thing that must be put forth is the fact that the survey is basically simple – Capcom wants some feedback about MHWilds and will reward one with a nice digital wallpaper. But the players? They had thinking. There were supporting suggestions for more monsters, more subspecies, and G Rank (because really, who does not want more content?). Others, however, were literarily daggers aimed at the game’s performance on PC. One user (VineetKuma73296) all went into essay mode for the survey, demanding them to fix optimization so that the game runs at a smooth 69 fps with no frame generation. Nice.
And then there is the PC port side of the story. Several players railed against “piss easy and runs like shit,” to quote. One pointed out that after months, still crashing like mad on PC is acceptable-the game’s way? Then there are the complaints from Denuvo–some swear the anti-tamper tech is to blame for the performance tanking and urged its removal ASAP.
Which is to say that it definitely was not all husks and gloom: Some hunters offered fun suggestions, like Godzilla and Naruto collabs (just imagine hunting a kaiju-sized Rathalos while Naruto runs about with a Long Sword). Others wanted more costumes, most especially Chun-Li and Cammy because fashion hunting is endgame. Then weapon buffs started screaming for fist weapons or a nerf to Long Sword’s Iai Slash for being difficult to land.
Music, however, was brought up by someone else: “The Wilds soundtrack won’t tint your memory like World and Rise-have-a-compare,” they said. Fair enough, but really, how do you beat Proof of a Hero?
Rising amidst chaotic portents were some voices of reason, ones like katana_landt, reminding everyone that whining on Twitter won’t fix anything-filling out the survey might. Then TheGamerTrials declared with pride: They fixed the game already with mods. Classic PC stuff.
So, what’s the takeaway here? Monster Hunter fans are deeply invested. They want Wilds to be the best game ever—smoother, more monsters, or just being able to cosplay as Street Fighters. There is much for Capcom to sift through, but at least it asked. Now the question is, what will they do with what they’ve heard?
