A lot of speculations have been going on about the potential Hero Academy season theme and the collaborations that may come with it. When big-time leaker HYPEX asked on Twitter what kind of collaborations gamers would want to see, Gen V/The Boys and Umbrella Academy were stated as perfect fits. And oof! The community really took off with some crazy ideas.

Let’s start with the obvious frontrunners. The Boys world pretty much screams Hero Academy. Imagine dropping into Battle Royale, with Homelander standing there doing an emote of wearing laser eyes or Butcher swinging his crowbar. Umbrella Academy would keep on fit and fill to the brim- Number Five teleporting around the map, yes please! Some argued for the comic versions over the Netflix show iterations.

But the ideas kept coming! My Hero Academia was mentioned pretty often in the replies, with players begging for Wave 4 skins and mythic abilities based on quirks. One player even went ahead and outlined a theoretical formula on how Fantastic Four powers could work in-game: elastic arms for Mr. Fantastic, invisibility bubbles for Sue Storm – that is some next-level brainstorming.

DC fans were out to war with many shoutouts to Peacemaker- helmet emote when?-, then requests for the whole Batfamily. Someone talked about King Shark, which, honestly, would be pretty cool to see waddling around the island.

Then we drifted far away from the beaten path. Chainsaw Man? Sure, let’s do it. Power Rangers? That would actually fit for a hero season. Then somebody said “Tom and Jerry,” and… wait, what? Though just thinking about it, Jerry with a mythic ACME hammer would be terrifyingly powerful.

Anime speculations were keeping pace as well. Jujutsu Kaisen wave 3 was prompting requests, with Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy thrown into the mix. Someone went full tilt calling for Daft Punk and Gorillaz collabs because “you know Fortnite”- and they’re not wrong about this peculiar, unpredictable history of crossovers.

Of course, not everybody was for more collabs. Some were even asking for a collab-less season (good luck with that), whereas some wanted just the item in the shop, such as the FNCS pickaxe. Really, though, Fortnite lives for these ridiculous crossovers, and a Hero Academy theme just reeks of superhero madness.

Maybe one of the weirdest ones was when a player dropped a picture of Al Capone and the caption “Al capi xd” — because nothing says “Hero Academy” quite like 1920s gangster antics.

If it comes down to Epic Gaming, they must surely be getting their hands dirty. Will there be The Boys? Another Star Wars? The utterly random Megamind? Only time will tell if the item shop for the upcoming season will empties wallets way faster than Homelander can laser a crowd.
