There is a lot of things coming to World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth this week. On January 14th, the Visions of N’Zoth content update will drop, and it is loaded with changes and added features. An exciting thing for gamers is the addition of two new Allied Races, the mechagnomes will be joining the Alliance, and the vulpera will entering the Horde ranks.

Mechagnomes

Here is the official Mechagnome bio, found on the World of Warcraft website: “Though they once sought to mechanize themselves completely, the mechagnomes now seek a balance between flesh and steel. Emerging from years of isolation on Mechagon, they bring both ingenuity and aptitude to the Alliance.”

There are seven classes that mechagnomes can be played as, including a Mage, Warrior, Rogue, Warlock, Hunter, Priest, and Monk.

Like all Allied Races, mechagnomes have a bunch of different racial traits. They have Re-Arm, which automatically heals the mechagnome when their health drops low. Another trait is Combat Analysis, which continues to strengthen the mechagnome the longer they fight the same enemy.

The new Allied Race can summon a decoy of themselves by using the trait Hyper Organic Light Originator. Mechagnomes can unlock chests by using their Skeleton Pinkie, and act as a crafting tool by using Mastercraft.

These racial traits and abilities are subject to change. Typically, Blizzard will alter things if they find that the balance is off with a particular ability.

Just like the Horde’s vulpera, the Alliance must complete a few different things before they can ultimately play the mechagnome. World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth gamers must become exalted with the Rustbolt Resistance.

They also need to complete the achievement called The Mechagonian Threat. To do that, there are over a dozen quests that need to be completed and they are all located on Mechagon Island.

Once gamers hit exalted with the Rustbolt Resistance and earned the achievement The Mechagonian Threat, players will be able to start the questline that will unlock the mechagnome. Once World of Warcraft players finish those quests, they will be able to play a mechagnome!

Another great thing is that when the mechagnome is unlocked, players will also get a new mount called the Mechagon Mechanostrider. The mount can be enjoyed by all of the player’s Alliance toons, not just the mechagnome!
