The Division 2 will have a public test server scheduled in April ahead of the new update for the game.

The test will allow developers to check the technical side of the game, as well as experiment with new stuff. Meanwhile, players also log in to check out new content before The Division 2 goes live with the update.

Yannick Banchereau, live content manager, said during the State of Game stream that The Division 2 update three is coming. But not before they iron out the kinks during the public test server.

He said that they are not looking to test out everything in the game.

Fortunately, fans who will log in to the public test server won’t really get a major advantage. For instance, Banchereau said that the raid won’t be included in the test. In his words, they are looking to “spoil it” on the test server as the raid “will remain secret.”

What’s important to them during the public test server for The Division 2 is the “overall stability.” They can also gauge the quality and effectiveness of the patch, as well as the balancing. There would be new content and items that will be added, which will also be tested during that time, as well.

He then urged players to try them out and then give feedback on The Division 2 update 3.

Fans were already clamoring for a public test server as they found it difficult to play when they amplify the difficulty level. There’s also another problem. While they can, in theory, mod their skills without sacrificing armor or health, the recent update seemingly nerfed the damage.

For example, the chem launcher has been especially divisive for fans. It’s intended to help fans restore their armor immediately. However, the Invasion for DC update nerfed the item so bad the radius plummeted to +140% to just +17.7%.

A Reddit post by dregwriter published on April 6 stated that Massive Entertainment only has itself to blame. Had the developer launched a public test server for The Division 2 first, it would have avoided these pitfalls.

The poster said that update 2 introduced a lot of changes that blindsided fans. He said other kinks in the game include the special ammo missing, mod changes on skills and weapons, and balancing. Now, fans will have to suffer as they wait for the next patch.

Keep posted for more announcements on the public test server for The Division 2.
